Medical Transcription Style
The style rules in medical transcription consist of all the rules of grammar that are applicable to medical transcription. Additionally it includes certain special rules that are specific to this industry. These include rules regarding numbers, measurements, symbols, stage, type, and fracture classifications, level, phase, class, grade, disease classification, lab test punctuation, wrist arthroscopy portals, drug terminology, names, report section notes, etc.
These style rules are the most commonly used ones in terms of language use in transcription documents. However, there are more rules regarding the use of medical terminologies and jargons which are specific to each medical specialty.
